STUDENTS:

The courses are designed for:

• Students in final forms of secondary school preparing for basic matura exams,
• Students in final forms of secondary school preparing for extended matura exams,

• have achieved at least A2 level in French according to the European system of language education description (in order to define language competence you need to write a test and have an interview with a teacher) - basic matura
• have achieved at least B1 level in French according to the European system of language education description (in order to define language competence you need to write a test and have an interview with a teacher) - extended matura

OBJECTIVES OF THE CLASSES:

Primary objective:

• preparing for matura exam in French

Example particular objectives:

• getting to know the form and assessment during the exam,
• writing letters, dissertations, essays,
• commenting on photos,
• taking part in discussion,
• understanding press articles.

HOW WE WORK:

Basic matura:

• 46 teaching hours,
• Classes once a week 2 teaching hours each: Friday 15h30-17h00,
• Groups up to 8 people,
• The course between 9th of October 2009 and 16th of April 2010!

Extended matura:

• 92 teaching hours,
• Classes once a week 4 teaching hours each: Friday 17h15-20h30,
• Groups up to 8 people,
• The course between 9th of October 2009 and 16th of April 2010!

TEACHING AIDS:

• Example exams from previous years,
• Photos, pictures,
• Press articles,
• Audio recordings,
• Teachers' materials.

WAY OF CONDUCTING THE CLASSES:

• Role plays,
• Simulating debates,
• Analysing example written forms and writing them at home.

EVALUATION:

• Mock up written and oral matura exam: March 2010
